Seasons

It’s Fall, a season of change. The leaves are turning; nature is slowing down and preparing for winter’s rest; our hearts and minds are turning from the activities of summer; many are returning to school and other activities; and the excitement of the holiday season is beginning.

November, in particular, is a month full of change. We change the decor of our homes and yards. We vote for new political leaders which we hope will bring positive change. As the weather cools, we change the way we dress, putting on sweaters and hats, coats, scarves and gloves. We change the way we eat, switching from lighter meals to more hearty meals. We swap salads and sandwiches for soups and stews. Instead of filling our mugs with coffee and iced tea, we sip hot cider and hot chocolate. Yum.

Like all of nature, WE have seasons. Our lives are a journey from one season to the next. Ecclesiastes sites a few of the seasons of life in it’s verses:

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8

There is a time for everything and a season for every activity under the heavens:

a time to be born and a time to die,

a time to plant and a time to uproot,

a time to kill and a time to heal,

a time to tear down and a time to build,

a time to weep and a time to laugh,

a time to mourn and a time to dance,

a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,

a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing,

a time to search and a time to give up,

a time to keep and a time to throw away,

a time to tear and a time to mend,

a time to be silent and a time to speak,

a time to love and a time to hate,

a time for war and a time for peace.

Although many seasons are fun and exciting, some are very difficult.  We must remember in all the seasons of our lives that the Lord is with us. Always. And we must look to Him for strength in the challenging times and guidance in the transitions.

Thinking of the changing seasons, and fall in particular, inspired the autumn mala collection. I love the warm autumnal colors of these aventurine gemstones. This rich wood cross is a perfect focal point and is accentuated by the sandalwood beads. I’ve also created a companion necklace of laguna lace agate and a matching bracelet. This collection is a reminder of the changing seasons in life and the ever-present love God has for us.

I pray that through the seasons of your life you know God is always with you; and that you let Him transform you into your best self.

Still,

Jai
